The Parkersburg Area Coalition For The Homeless was founded in 1989 and incorporated in 1990. We are dedicated to work towards finding solutions to the problem of homelessness in our community and surrounding areas.
We strive to work towards the following:
- Public awareness concerning the homeless population and what their needs are.
- Taking action by providing basic hygene and survival items such as food, soap, towels, blankets, sleeping bags, and clothing to those in the homeless population.
- Referrals for those in need of mental health services, substance abuse treatment, housing and medical care.
- Working towards long term solutions by providing affordable housing options within our community.
- Support for agencies within our community who are also striving to assist the homeless population.
- Friendship and support for individuals presently living on the streets and those who are in the process of obtaining housing.
